This is the first orienteering map I made purely by LIDAR and Aerial Imagery. After comming home from Jukola in 2018 in a fantastic dead ice terrain west of Lahti, a leisure map I made in Meldal where I had put an icon for a geolgical area of interest, came to mind. It turned out that good quality and recent LIDAR data was available for the area, and it didn't take me long before the map was ready.

   Eventually, I got the chance to test the map my self, and to my surprise the quality of the map was really good. This spurred my curiosity: were thet more areas to map this way? Well these web pages provide an answere to that, I guess.
