Fiskåa-Pikhaugan

pikhaugan-fiskaa400.png

This area was discovered in the search for dead ice terrain in Norway. It is characterized by intricate contours and good runability. Forest is mostly birch.

Unfortunately, the area is not easy to access as the closest road is 5km off the southern end of the map. Expect a one hour walk from Nedalshytta where there is parking.

The map was created for the Karolinerspretten in 2019, an orienteering race held in commemoration of the  Carolean Death march that occurred 300 years earlier; a tragedy that occurred 10–15 km off the northern end of the map.

A version of the Karolinerspretten course are available at usynligo

Please observe the notes on the map regarding permission and reindeer.
